Ghost in the Shell
This is quite a well-known animie, i found a copy in Blockbuster video!!! It is a good animie if a little confusing in places. It takes place in Tokyo in the future. The main character is a cyborg cop called Major Kusanagi she and her fellow oficers, Bateu also cyborg and mostly human Tosuga, in the elite police unit known as Shell Squad. It is their job to track down the computer hacker 'puppet master' who can hack into the minds of his victims and order them to carry out his evil deeds. As she and her team dig deeper into the case they find it goes much further than just computer crime, she finds government conspiricies and plots. Towards the end it becomes very confusing, so listen carefully.
WARNING I AM ABOUT TO REVEAL THE END IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE END DO NOT READ THIS.
The puppet master turns out to be a creature born into the web. He is totally artificial and has no being. He is able to take-over the minds of cyborgs and in this way he links with Kusanagi and he and her become a new being.

This is a much more light hearted than Ghost in the shell but is from the same creator, Masamune Shirow.
This stars the swat officers Nab Doonan and Bulieros Hecatonacles.
One normal day they are called to a hostage situation in Utopia city. One half cyborg terorist
is captured but he kills on of Doonans team. From this point she sets out to find and kill him.
You follow her and Bulieros in their search for A.J. Sebastian.
It's a good animie definately worth a look but much easier to understand than Ghost in the shell.
